Fate: Books 1-6
Bio:
Colin Greyhead, one of the golden trio within the William of Alamore series, is first formally introduced in the opening chapter of Ranger of Kings. Raised at court from the moment he could become a page, Colin was the second son of the late Count Cavian Greyhead. He followed into the footsteps of his late brother by joining Alamore as a page and beginning his training.
Shortly after suffering the loss of his brother, Colin lost both of his parents before ever becoming a squire. With these great losses and the knowledge that all of their titles and lands would be his responsibility the day he became a knight, Colin was a very subdued child. The first nights after the burial of his parents, he suffered with nightmares and found it hard to sleep. At first, he found solace by spending extra time studying.
This, however, was not nearly as effective a distraction as the friendship offered to him by a page that arrived shortly after he did. Rowan Lonric--with tousled brown hair, a wicked smile, and absolutely no fear of the rules that Colin revered--quickly decided that Colin needed his friendship. And, though no one would admit it to Rowan or Colin at their young ages, the knights in charge of the pages thought their friendship was much needed for saving Colin from spiraling into the truth of his years to come.
With Rowan's friendship, he slowly became light-hearted, though still very serious in times of lessons and training. He learned to have more fun and even partook in minor pranks with the other pages (though refused to help scheme anything that he thought went too far, much to Rowan's disgust.)
The other friendship that helped him through these times of trouble was that of his cousin, Carnel, who was in charge of his estates until he became of age. The letters from his cousin were some semblance of home to cling to when desperate for a normalcy long gone.
Upon becoming a squire, Colin was both pleased and intimidated to be approached by Sir Ross Hayvern with the offer of mentorship. He simply told Colin that, as his father had once saved him, he wanted to return what he could by training the final heir of the Greyhead family.
Shortly after taking on the mantle of squire, he was ordered to accompany Ross and Rowan to the city one late summer morning. Grabbing up his wooden sword, he obeyed. But, when they met a hooded figure in the city streets who encouraged them to go train against city boys, he was hesitant. Something, he was sure, wasn't as it seemed.
But never could he imagine how their lives would forever change when Rowan invited a blue-eyed commoner to train with them.
And he met the nearest person he would ever again have to a brother
He met Will
