Ever feel guilty for needing time alone?

Hello ,
I need to tell you about a walk I took this week—because it shifted something in me I didn’t even realize I’d been carrying.
My husband asked if he could come with me on my morning walk.
And for a moment, I froze. That walk isn’t “just” a walk. It’s where my blind pup leads me gently through the park, teaching me to slow down. It’s where my Rosebud journaling app becomes a quiet companion, asking me the questions I most need to hear. It’s where my breath and steps fall into rhythm, and I find myself again.
So when he asked, I felt that old tug—the part of me that wants to say yes before I’ve even asked what I need. I almost said no to myself. And when I did hesitate, I saw the sting in his face.
But then something shifted.
“Yes,” I said. “And also, I still need my walk alone.”
It was subtle, but powerful. I could honor my relationship with him and my relationship with myself.
Later that evening, as I stood at the sink doing dishes—my least favorite chore—I lit a candle. I put on music. And suddenly, even that ordinary moment became a sanctuary.
That’s when I realized: these are the quiet things that save me.
Not retreats or breakthroughs. But small, ordinary touchpoints: a walk, a candle, a breath.

Here’s what I learned this week:
💖 Protecting sacred time doesn’t mean shutting others out. Sometimes it means saying yes to both.
💖 The holy isn’t always extraordinary—it often hides in the dishes, the walks, the breath we overlook.
💖 Small rituals are the golden threads that keep us from unraveling.
What I want you to know today:
You don’t need a retreat.
You don’t need perfect conditions.
You don’t need anyone else’s permission.
The sacred is already here—in the smallest things you dare to honor.
