Overwhelmed? 10 Minutes Could Change Everything

Aug 18, 2024 9:53 pm

Hello ,

In the hustle and bustle of the back-to-school season, it’s easy to put ourselves last. Between juggling responsibilities, managing everyone’s needs, and squeezing in a packed schedule, self-care often feels like an impossible luxury. But here’s the truth: self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential.

A few months ago, I found myself overwhelmed and frustrated. My day was jam-packed with appointments, and my teenager was late to school… again. If you’re a parent, you know how much that can throw off your entire day. As I drove away, I could feel the bitterness creeping in, fueled by the frustration of having no time for myself.

Then, a little voice in my mind whispered, "Can you take just 10 minutes to do something you love?" At first, I resisted—how could I possibly squeeze in time for myself when my day was already off track? But then I decided to listen. I pulled over, ran up a beautiful trail near my home, and let myself soak in the beauty of the blooming flowers. Just 10 minutes. That’s all it took to shift my mood from frustration to calm, from overwhelmed to focused.

That moment was a turning point—a lightbulb moment. I realized that even 10 minutes of self-care can change everything. Whether it’s a quick walk, a few minutes of deep breathing, or simply enjoying a cup of tea in silence, these small acts of self-care can make a world of difference.

Tips to Unlock Self-Care in a Busy Schedule

Here are some simple yet powerful self-care tips that can help you find balance, even on your busiest days:

  • Schedule "Me Time" ⏰: Even if it’s just 10 minutes a day, make it a priority. If 10 minutes feels like too much, start with two 5-minute sessions. Small steps make a big impact.
  • Stay Active 💪: Exercise releases endorphins and reduces stress. I’ve started a new workout that I love—try it here: BODi LAVA.
  • Eat Well 🥗: Proper nutrition fuels your body and mind. This is my new daily supplement. I admit, I was hesitant to try colostrum but it seems to be really helping me.
  • Connect with Others 💬: Reach out to friends or join a support group. Join my free Facebook Group: SoulSister Circle.

Remember, self-care doesn’t have to be expensive, time-consuming, or complicated. It’s about finding what works for you and making it a non-negotiable part of your day.
