June marks halfway through the year; wow, what a year it's been! With two books released into the world from my list, I feel like I'm on a roll, as I've already written the final book of the 2024 season. She's off to the editor now, and I look forward to the future.

We've reached the halfway point, so I should rush through those goals at lightning speed. Let's check it out.

The Lies We Tell Release Debrief

With a few weeks under this book's belt, I can say that TLWT is a slow-to-grow hit. The ratings thus far have been glowing, sweet, and reflective of how the audience cares about Jude and Giselle.

I try not to check the measure of sales since a book's life journey is more than the number of books sold or the dollar amount attributed to those sales.

Instead, I embrace the content created by readers and the commentary from those who reach out to me. People, from what I can tell, have loved the book. That's great for me. That's all I ever want.

JUNE SNEAK PEAK: The Games We Play Tropes and Release Date

By now, everyone should have seen the announcement of my 9th book and the second book in the Love at Royal Ridge Series: The Games We Play.

I'm thrilled to reveal more about the book in due time, but I have two little morsels of information to share early with you: the release date and the tropes/microtropes.

THE RELEASE DATE: SEPTEMBER 18, 2024

The tropes are:

obsessed by Olivia Rodrigo + 911 on Fox/ABC

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge Olivia Rodrigo fan. GUTS is one of my favorite albums, but the deluxe version finally brought the much-anticipated track "obsessed." In the punk leanings of her recent tracks, obsessed weaves a sharp story about insecurity within a relationship over a brash instrumental.

When I saw the edits on TikTok about the show (yes, they were Buck x Eddie), I was convinced to try it. I didn't anticipate how emotional and heartfelt the show would be. Touching on the emergency services triad (EMS, Fire, and Police), the show offers such diversity among its characters in the protagonists and the cases they see. Also, the ships are to die for (long live Buddie!), making the show bingeable.
