How can you make a challenging world work for you?

#134 – How can you make a challenging world work for you?
Yesterday, at my coffee-maker sales job, I came across a heavily discounted machine and immediately thought of buying it for a friend who wants one.
At the end of my shift, when I was at the register buying it, the store manager showed up. He brought up some policy (which actually wouldn't apply to me since I'm not a store employee), and took the machine to the stock room to "penny it out." He'd rather not sell it at that price than throw it away.
My initial reaction was what used to be my Primary process whenever anyone interfered with my getting what I wanted: righteousness, victimhood, abandonment, smallness. A "why would he do that to me?" kind of feeling.
As I watched him briskly walk to the stock room with the box, the thought, "he's my teacher" came to me.
Of course, clear as water. It's not about changing the world and manipulating people so that I can be ok with their decisions.
My job is to work with myself so that I can be ok with the world, no matter what people decide and do. This store manager, yesterday, helped me practice that, and I can only be grateful. Thank you, store manager.
How will your experience of life deepen when you recognize your teachers?
Love,
Carolina
