#101 – Testing the limits of my "wisdom"

On Monday morning, life threw a brutal curve ball at me. For the entire day, I've been trying to find peace.

I've meditated, prayed, used all the mantras I could think of. At some point, I thought I'd never emerge from the state of deep confusion and turmoil I was in.

As I see it now, I was in what we call 'realm,' a kind of emotional state in which we believe nothing will ever change. When we're in a state of 'realm,' we feel trapped in a bubble of misery. All we see is the present pain, and we're unable to trust that time will pass and we'll feel different later on.

At around 3:30 pm, I decided to reach out: I made a phone call. Then another one. Then I sent a text, and another one. And I made another phone call.

When a dear friend called me around 6pm, I hesitated before picking up. It proved to be the right choice.

Why? Because when we're inside a bubble, even the slightest motion creates momentum. Eventually, that momentum causes the bubble to burst, and with it, the state of 'realm'—that sense of being stuck—evaporates.

When were you able to effect positive change in tough times by reaching out?

Love,

Carolina

PS: Interesting that today's email is #101. Like, "Wisdom 101," a primer on spiritual/emotional pain.

PSS: Thankfully, my A Course In Miracles lesson for today was, "God is the strength in which I trust."
