#360 – How does anger at the world improve your life?
The world is the world and does its thing, which has nothing to do with you. So, why would you bother being angry at it?
Unfortunately, your Ego and the Ghosts disagree. Mine do, at least.
- It rains on the morning I'm planning a long run? I go "grr!"
- A high-stakes meeting between two parties in my son's case still hasn't happened? "Grr!"
- No frozen wild blueberries at the supermarket? "Grr!"
My Ego and the Ghosts insist on making me feel like a victim of these random circumstances. But the world is chaotic and certainly doesn't pay any attention to what I want or need.
Things happen because they happen and I can't know what will happen next.
So, why do I keep being mad at the world for not responding to my needs? It has nothing to do with me––it doesn't even know I exist, let alone that I was planning on running this morning.
In turn, if I choose to rest in the chaos by accepting it, even when it doesn't "follow my orders," I'm free.
If I remind myself that I have no say in events outside of my control, I'm free.
By being okay with the unpredictability of the world and other humans, I set myself free.
What unpredictability will you become okay with, to continue advancing towards freedom?
Love,
Carolina
