#132 – The Ego may look like strength– but it's just fear
Stand up for yourself, we're told.
Reclaim what's yours. Stand for your rights. Don't let people take advantage of you. Don't let anyone disrespect you. Prevent them from taking your place. They have to know you're right. They have to know it's your turn.
And above all, don't be a doormat!
So we clench our fists and do all those things. Yes. And we feel so strong and powerful. Because we're right, our nose to the heavens and our pursed lips.
But in the process, we're teaching our Ego that we need its protection. That without it and its pseudo-strength, we're nothing. Just a doormat. A jello-backbone.
So what if we're nothing?
Oh, no, no, that can't be. Because – I have to have rank. Status. Otherwise.
What if I don't care? What if I've nothing to prove? What if I just don't make myself available for what I don't want and for the rest, I just am?
Does that scare you?
That's because, all those things (stand up for yourself, etcetera)? That's your Ego talking. And it needs your fear in order to stay alive. It needs you small and frightened – or else it'd die.
But if you stay in your Personal Power, you don't need rank or status. You don't need to assert yourself.
Because you just are.
You are yourself, fully, entirely. And the behaviors of others don't change your behavior or your happiness.
Because you just are. And the power is already in you.
Who will you be when you're nothing?
Love,
Carolina
