Hala, pwede pala yun?
Di ba delikado yun?
Paano kaya yun?
Soap can be a scary thing to do. Well, that's what people think.
You can easily learn soap from Licensed Soap Making Workshops. People even do it as a hobby, and some teach it on Youtube.
But the hardest part of being a soap maker is selling your soap commercially.
When you register sa BIR, you're going to declare whether you're a manufacturer or a store owner.
Pero teka, paano ko ba nagawa yun? May background ba ako sa pagiging chemist or ano?
To be honest, none. I don't even do skincare lol.
Eh, paano mo nagagawa sabon mo at nabebenta mo? Hindi ba nakakatakot yun? Paano kung may reaction sa skin?
I can tell you in another email how, but one thing I know for sure is...
You just have to love doing it wholeheartedly, have a BIG vision for it, and TAKE MASSIVE ACTION.
As a beauty seller, you have to be YOUR no. 1 customer, so kung reactive sa skin mo, edi wag mo na ibenta haha.
As sensitive skin for more than 20 years suffering from acne and pimples, if hindi gagana sa akin, then hindi rin gagana sa rest.
So kung gusto mo magsell ng sarili mong product, my no. 1 advice is to find your own unique product.
That can be through:
-Finding your suppliers
-Creating your own
Pero dahil masyadong madugo ang all-around one man team, since ako yung:
-taga bili ng supplies
-taga gawa
-taga package
-taga balot
-taga market
-taga strategize
-taga gawa ng packaging design
-taga research
I suggest you delegate your work. If your time will take you so long, tas maliit balik. Outsource.
Kasi yung outsourcan mo, FDA na, may mga liscensed pa gumagawa, tska proven and tested na.
In my E-commerce brand, I have:
-my own formulated soap
-outsourced products
I'm proud to say that it has helped my customers become more healthier and glowing.
Even me!
I gained back my confidence and healed my pimple and acne skin by using my products for more than 2 years.
So if you are a freelancer and want to sell your own product/brand, here's my advice.
Product-based business isn't easy.
Mas mahirap pa siya sa freelancing. You need to have a capital to do it.
But what I like about starting your E-com is that:
-You can start with minimal capital
Though for someone like me who invested in a licensed soap-making workshop, tools, supplies, ingredients, packaging, and products.
It took me 30k-40k for my capital.
For beauty brands, it's a competitive world, but I believe you have to find your ideal market.
As for my products, it's at a pricey level, because I know that they are quality, and can help solve a problem for my target audience.
Imagine going to a derma with 2500 PHP every session + skincare treatment + buying skincare product just to get our skin healed.
Super costly.
Then I found that organic products lang ang solution sa problema ko sa acne and pimples ko.
Not only that, it helped my customer's skin problems as well.
Eczema, dry, combo, oily.
It also helped my customers who are breastfeeding and pregnant moms.
So if you're planning to sell your product, you have to test lots of products.
You have to be willing to fail. Start imperfect. Get feedback and improve.
Before I was able to sell my Vegan Shampoo & Conditioner set + Soap, mga 20 na sabon ang tinary ko sa diff manufacturers, and hindi siya pasado.
Many people share their wins na pagkalaunch nakabenta agad ng ganito, nareach ang ganito.
Hindi sya ganun kadali.
Machchallenge ka lalo kasi product ang binebenta mo.
Kaya masaya siya, kasi mas magiging creative ka.
At hindi ka puro nasa computer lang nakaupo haha.
I launched my brand Jan 2021.
I took a hiatus in 2022 para tapusin ang course ko, PCCS (Premium Designer Client Closing System) to help designers get premium clients & start their own creative agency.
Ngayon April ko lang nafocus.
And guess how much and earning ko for the past 2 years sa Ecom?
27k php.
Not bad. And that's a good progress, kasi nga nagtake a break ako.
So I hope this serves as an inspiration to you.
Because I go by my mission and purpose to help more sensitive skin Filipinos become more confident and healthier through botanical vegan beauty products.
I'm proud to say katas lahat ng freelancing ko for the past 3 years serving local E-commerce clients.
So I thought of creating a webinar or mini-series to talk about starting your own beauty E-commerce brand.
Reply if you're interested.
