Wanna Build? Decide on a Budget FIRST!

Hello Friend,
Welcome to my mailing list, on which I share tips on helping you to own your own home. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers on my list. Trust your family made you feel awesome?
I trust that you have downloaded my free ebook? Please read it, and let me know if you have any questions.
Today, I want to shed some light on something that I see that many people don't do. HAVE A BUDGET for your project.
You may be thinking of building a new house, renovating an existing one, or fitting out an office or shop. But first things first, what is your budget?
In other words, how much do you have to spare for this project?
Will this be funded out of pocket? From your savings or from a loan?
When you decide on your budget, please communicate this to your architect. `This will save you a lot of time and round-about journeys.
I met a client once that scoffed at my question about his budget. He dismissed it and said "Come up with what you can." I did things with best practise means and by the time I was done, he screamed when he saw the Bill of Quantities (i.e cost estimate), he screamed! He confessed that he didn't have 50% of that estimate and so we had restart the design.
He wasted our time, and we gave him a rude awakening. And this is why you should communicate your budget. There will always be a solution for your budget. Architects are not there to get rich off your project, they are rather there to give you greatest value for your money.
Don't be pennywise, pound foolish. Get an architect for your project today. Remember, every building deserves an architect.
Reply, and let me know if you, or someone you know is considering building a house.
Till I come your way again next week,
I remain,
Your favourite architect,
Brenda Unuavworho
