Hi
A Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) plays a crucial role as a layer of protection for plant piping and equipment from overpressure. That's why a process engineer should have a deep understanding of how a PSV works, its sizing scenarios and parameters. Otherwise, the PSV may not do its main job and this would leave the plant unprotected.
Understanding PSV sizing is not just a technical skill; it's a key responsibility that directly impacts the safety and efficiency of your plant. In a previous YouTube video, I have talked in brief about Pressure Safety Relief valves: Operation, types, and sizing procedure.
That's why I'm excited to announce the upcoming launch of my new course, "Pressure Relief and Safety Valves, blowdown, and flare system design". This comprehensive course dives deep into the PSV sizing operation, and types. In addition, it shall go through depressurization and blowdown, in addition to relief header sizing using Aspen FlareNet. All this shall be carried out with practical examples you need to excel in your role.
In "Pressure Relief and Safety Valves, blowdown, and flare system design", you'll learn:
- The critical role PSVs play in maintaining plant safety
- How to calculate PSV orifice area for various scenarios (gas, steam, and liquid service)
- Determining relief load for different overpressure cases
- Best practices for blowdown and depressurization
- Analyzing and optimizing relief systems using industry-standard software
I am currently about to finish the course, it's added as a section in Process Engineering Masterclass same as the vessel sizing section I talked about in the previous email. However, I am still working to ensure that all material is completely available. The separate PSV course is expected to launch as well within a few days.
For the time being, you can check out the course free preview on Process Engineering Masterclass.
Stay tuned for more details on the official launch date and special introductory pricing. In the meantime, don't forget to watch the PSV sizing video and free preview and let me know your thoughts!
If you have any specific questions about PSV sizing or the upcoming course, feel free to reply to this email. I'm here to help!
Regards
Mohamad
P.S. Process Engineering Masterclass is currently on sale for a very limited time. Afterwards the course price shall increase and the sale price won't be available anymore. You can access the discounted course from this link or use the coupon SAJKLSH12.
