[Positive Intelligence] Fourth week check-in
Aug 11, 2023 2:16 pm
Dear ,
Our next video session is both exciting and challenging.
We begin to practice the Sage Power of Empathize -- especially towards yourself. Most high achievers are in the habit of depleting themselves by beating themselves up constantly, convinced by the lie of their Saboteurs that being hard on yourself is good.
Empathy towards yourself is a great counter to that lie -- putting the oxygen mask on yourself first, and charging yourself up, so you have even more to give.
IMPORTANT: Please bring into this session a childhood picture of yourself, younger than 13, in which your original true personality was shining through. We'll use this picture in an important exercise to help you remember who you really are (your beautiful Sage) and activate Empathy towards yourself. You'd also need a small mirror so you can look at yourself in part of the exercise. If you absolutely can’t find a mirror, your smartphone camera could be used as backup.
To get the most out of this session, please understand that empathy lives in a very different region of your brain than your rational mind. You can’t think or analyze your way into it. You need to feel your way into it.
While the hammer of the rational mind is a very important tool in your toolbox, we’re helping you expand your toolbox with other tools, such as the brush of deep empathy. So please come with an open mind and allow yourself to experience the power of a very different part of your brain, where your Sage lives.
The “harder” you think with your rational mind, the less you have access to the power and wisdom of that part of your brain.
For example, if you look at your childhood picture, your rational mind might only see the superficial literal things, like “this child doesn’t have a lot of education or knowledge, and can’t teach me anything.” But your Sage brain would tune into the deeper essence and character of that being. Your essence has never changed, from the day you were born. This child picture can help you remember who you really are.
The next video will be available in the app on Saturday. Please try to watch the video before Monday.
With gratitude,
Aicila (EYE-ee-sila)
