I'm on Panels!!!

I leave for Dragoncon in 3 days and I can't wait. I need to get out and see people, maybe meet some fans, and gain new ones. For those of you that don't know about Dragoncon, well it's awesome.

This year will be a bit weird with the masks, attendance cap, and much less guests, but I have friends to see and I'll be careful. They have me on panels with groups I wouldn't normally be in so that will be a chance to get exposed to new people, which is good. Overall, I'm looking forward to the break.

The big news on my side is the cover reveal of Drafted Luck! I don't have a sale date yet as I'm waiting for edits, but I'm excited. All the betas loved it, so I'm hopeful you will two.

While you are waiting for drafted Luck, check out these stories.

Skald's Hollow is a free reader magnet as a prequel to a series. You have black sheep son's, evil fathers, magical creatures, and the fight to survive your family. Check it out.

Next up we have one with a touch of romance. If you want aliens and portals this is the book for you. Take a look at Shattered if you want to enter into a world where you might have powers we can only dream of.

This is a short newsletter this week as I still need to pack more stuff for Dragoncon and I have friends coming over for brisket I think I screwed up. Oh well it's still brisket.

Here is your microstory for the week. I need to clean the kitchen.

Sparkler

Sara stared at her sparkler then the swirling lights spinning faster and faster. It was just supposed to leave an aftermath of lights on your eyes. Then fade, not start spinning on its own.

"Mom?" She called as she took three big steps back. The spinning circle got bigger and brighter against the setting summer dusk sky.

"What?" Her mom's exasperated voice came through the screen door and Sara flinched. But still, this was important right? Something to call her mom for?

She swallowed and yelled back. "Nothing." But she didn't take her eyes off the lights. It was now half the size of her body and steady. She swore the purple in the center wasn't the same color purple as the sky.

"Yes? Where would you like to go?" A scratchy voice spoke and Sara spun looking for the speaker.

"Well? Where do you want to go?" The voice came again, irritation that sounded eerily like her mother.

"Go where?" Her voice dropped to a near whisper.

"Really? Is this a prank?" Annoyance sharp and clear.

"No?" Sara said, though she wasn't sure.

"I hate misdials," the voice grouched. "Remember to not use the Portal Dialing Sticks unless you want to go somewhere. There is a two gold charge for continued misuse. Good bye!" the spinning portal winked out.

Sara looked at the sparkler she'd sneaked out of her mom's room and laid it down. Maybe she shouldn't be playing with her mom's stuff anymore.

I hope you liked! My to do list is never ending, and I'd better get to it.
