Or Garage Sale Purgatory
My hand is doing fine. This weekend we had a garage sale to try and get rid of come of my mom's sewing stuff. So much stuff. And not enough people. It's hard to advertise to get the right people for sewing stuff. But it is done and I have a plan on what to do with the rest. I'll have to make a bunch of trips to Goodwill and Scrap Atlanta (this one is at least cool). Otherwise just tired and ready to get back to writing.
There is a give away to celebrate the launch of Unbalanced Luck available for pre-order now!. The winner gets the author proof of the paperback hopefully prior to the launch date. Make sure you share to get more entries. Launch Give Away.
Even with the distractions and hurt hand, I'm at 34k for Balanced Luck, so 1/3 almost. I can't wait to share with you what Cori is facing. I'm very mean.
Book Recommendations!
Thios is the first book in Kindle Vella I've ever had, so you'll have to tell me if The War Drums of Kanth has enough drama, politics, dwarves, and elves to make it worth it.
Weekly Micro Story
Magic Touched
The winds swirled ahead of me, magic curling through it, white against the blue sky. I shuddered but kept walking. If a stream of magic hit me anything could happen. No one sane walked into the magic wastes.
So that meant being out here was crazy, stupid, or desperate.
It would have been easier if I was crazy or stupid. Then I wouldn't understand so exactly what I was walking into. But I was neither. Instead I was the third. Desperate and out of choices.
My feet continued to trudge forward into the desert, toward the awaiting magic. And I swear it was waiting for me. A hole appeared, sky blue with the magic swirling around creating a tunnel. My shoulders hunched but I kept walking, maybe I'd be lucky and it would kill me instantly.
At sixteen the orphanage had thrown me out. My parents either long dead or had long abandoned me, the reasons didn't really make a difference. Life was hard in Klanuk, and an extra mouth to feed could spell doom for an entire family. I hadn't been lucky enough to get picked for an apprenticeship, not pretty enough, smart enough, strong enough for any of the trades or merchants that preyed on the orphanages as sources of labor.
That left me with this. The possibilities were literally endless. I could be killed, become a monster or a god. Magic could do anything all you could do was accept. With a deep breath I took the final step and magic swirled around me, through me, and I changed.

Yes, I know, another world idea. Sigh.
