How do I make it good enough?
The more I write the more critical I become of myself and my stories. How can it be better, stronger, more entertaining? Yet I still need to write relatively fast. This week has been a head beating one. I know what happens in these scenes, yet I'm struggling to pull them out of me. Then my computer decided to be a pain. To the point that I gave in and got a new one. I have a new Mac Mini and fingers crossed there are no issues with this one, cause I have too much other stuff to do!! But already it is SO MUCH BETTER. and my computer area will now get an upgrade - okay it will get cleaned up an rearranged. Lol.
I will be in Vegas From the 1st of November through the 8th and while I'm not planning on selling any books, if you are coming to the Reader Nation and desperately wanted one of mine let me know and I'll sneak it into my luggage. For the rest of you, if you live in Vegas and like books, you should totally check out Reader Nation. It is completely free, there are a TON of authors there, and they will be selling books. Plus a bunch of them are friends, so you know they have to be awesome!

Weekly Micro Story
Red Coat
Salir sat on Refay's back as they looked down on the battlefield. From here even her worthless nose could smell the blood.
"Are you sure?" she asked her voice low, not that anyone could hear them over the clash of blades, screams of the dying, and the rage that seemed a living creature among the fighters.
~They are unable to fight the influence of the demon that makes them fight. We can let them all die. The carrion eaters would enjoy that option.~ There was no judgement in Refay's voice, which made it all the worse.
"No. That isn't the right choice, though are you sure we can resist it?" She had little love for humans, regardless that she was one. They were selfish and cruel, though a few might be kind. The fleeting memory of a woman at the market helping her buy the cloak that now wrapped around her.
~Yes. The demon can not influence me, I do not possess the emotions it feeds off of.~
Salir looked down at the head of her Fernari, or more accurately she was his human. "You can get mad and even hate," she said hesitantly.
~Yes. But I have no jealousy. No envy. No shame. No guilt. That is what the Kalink feed on. And I can protect you as you are mine the way my fur is mine. Nothing can change it, but death.~
Salir took a deep breath. "I'm glad you are sure. But let's go now, before my own doubts stop us."
Refay did not give her time to change her mind as he leapt down the second the words were spoken. He raced across the battlefield, both insubstantial as a wisp of mist and solid as a falling free. Until he reached where Kalink stood. His once silvery coat now red as he and his human faced the demon responsible for the lifeblood that coated him.
