Dragoncon and a wedding

Means I forgot!
Dragoncon was a whirlwind of people, sales, and exhaustion. I walked 31 miles over five days and my feet and legs swelled so bad standing on the concrete floor it took three days for the swelling to completely disappear. But over all it was a great convention. I sold a bunch of books, got to see authors I really only see once a year, and was on amazing panels. Then I left for a wedding. I was half way there when I realized there was a newsletter that was supposed to go out, and I had purposefully not brought my computer or iPad as I wanted to do some thinking.
Which means you did not get a newsletter. Oops. But the wedding was wonderful. I renewed how much I loved the Unicoi Lodge and I got to know someone I didn't know that well. So all in all a good weekend and you are getting this on a Monday. Yep, my bad.
Otherwise I need to get back into writing and get the stories flowing back out.

Weekly Micro Story
Fire
Chad knew he would be a mage and had been trying for hours to generate the chi through his system. Fire was the only option, as winners had Fire. Losers had the other elements. Who wanted Water or Earth? They were for weaklings. He refused to be weak. He had his family name to live up to.
Hour after hour standing in the dojo going through the forms, cycling his chi. Focused on Fire. His anger and frustration groin at the same time.
"I will be a Fire mage," he muttered as he strained at forcing fire to come out of his hands. Over and over his only thought was Fire, ignoring how the water in the glass reached toward him.
He screamed as the chi in his hand burst into fire. A yell of delight that quickly shifted into pain as horror as his arms disintegrated into ash as the Fire engulfed them.
Maybe Fire was the wrong choice?
