Life Drama and Thank you

imageI live with a Murphy's Luck on me.

This is going to be super, and I mean super, short this week.

First, THANK YOU. Drafted Luck hit 180 on the Amazon store which is actually kinda huge, and I owe a lot of it to all of you. So thank you!

I've spent the last two days at the hospital with my mom and I've been pulling 30 hour days, so I'm am exhausted beyond thought. She managed to fall and break her pelvic bone, which means she can't stand or walk. Plus add in the fact that she is experiencing a rapid decline in mental coherency, I'm torn between tears and screaming, so I'm tapped out.

All you get is a reminder to share Drafted Luck and a micro short.

Thanks!

Goodbye

Ella stood, looking at the valley below. It filled with a mass of zombies churning around. They had channeled old hunting techniques for mammoths and buffalo and tricked them into running off a cliff into a box canyon, the only outlet blocked courtesy of some dynamite.

"They're going to get out." Alan's voice sounded as apathetic as she felt. Were there even any people left alive besides them? Or had everyone else already succumbed to the horror below them.

"Yeah. Can't let them," Ella replied, still standing, hand on her rifle, even if she just wanted to curl up and weep. But no one had time for tears.

Alan looked at the claymores. "We need to use these while we still can. Kill as many as possible. There's no way to throw them into the middle."

"Nope," Ella said her voice low. "We've got to lure them here, drop it down this edge, then keep killing until nothing moves."

"Are we sure there is anyone out there still?" Alan asked the way you asked if the rain had stopped. Curious but not worried about the answer.

"Seven billion people. They can't all be the undead." Ella lifted her rifle and fired once. She'd gotten very good at headshots.

"I hope not. I don't have that many bullets. Ready?"

"Go." She braced herself as the claymore was lowered down the side of the cliff. "Time to say goodbye." Ella sighted in on the head of her sister, and pulled the trigger.

I'm trying to get through the next week. And hoping I can get my mother home.

Mel
