Drafted Luck Preorder and Sleep

imageI am sleeping SO MUCH better!

You've figured out by now that I'm weird right? Well, when ti comes to the best sleep for me, I'm still weird. My perfect sleep is a freezing room, like less than 50° with a down comforter on me. I love the icy cold burrowed under heavy warm blankets, mmmmmm. Yes I'm ready to go back to bed now. However, the problems with this preferred sleeping method are threefold.

One - when you have to get up the room is freezing. I actually don't mind the cold for the midnight trip to the restroom, because I have warmth to crawl back into. But when I need to get up and get moving, getting out of a hot shower into a freezing room (master bedroom and bath) is unpleasant.

Two - I live in the south. The nights like this are limited and I don't want to spend a thousand dollars on my air conditioning bill.

Three - no one else is particularly happy with this, not even the cats. They think the entire part of sleeping in the house is to NOT be freezing. Wimps I tell you, wimps!

He is cute though.

But it's cold now and I'm sleeping well. Which means I've been almost productive. Yes it is here. There is a date for getting Drafted Luck into your hot needy hands! Go pre-order now and let the Amazon gods (or algothrithms) know that you love me. This is a long book, coming in at over 110k. Hopefully it will fill the gap in your reading life.

Now for a special message from a friend of mine - Robert Ross. His new series Paradigm: 2045 is a new enterance into Sci-Fi. Here's his message and the new book is out in Audible.

Hey Mel, thanks for giving your folks a shout out to let them know my new sci-fi book is now in the wild For those of you who aren’t familiar, Paradigm 2045 is a near future sci-fi series with shades of Star Trek, The Expanse, and Battlestar Galactica. Or, as Mel put it in her own review, X-men meets Star Trek. I’m a big fan of the audiobook version of these stories. They are voiced by Nick Podehl who I think is the absolute best in the business. Print and e-books are available for both Trinity’s Children and Humanity’s Promise on Amazon. Audible can be found here.

Best

Milo sniffed the book his human was studying so intently. Dead wood, dust, blood, which was at least interesting, and tree sap. Useless and boring.

"Let me be, Milo. You've already been feed." The human groomer pushed him away, and he sighed with a flick of his tail, jumping off the table and going towards the sun.

Princess lay in the prime sun spot, but chasing her out of it sounded like too much effort, so he sprawled out in the second best area, the sun coating his fur in loving warmth.

Silly humans and their quest for magic. They missed the magic that was all around.

Princess jerked up an nibbled at a spot, then groomed to make sure her fur was perfect, before twisting around to catch more of the magic heat from the sun.

"I wish I was a cat. All you do is lay around and sleep. That would be the life." The easy food provider stood over them, amusement in her tone. Milo flicked an ear at her. Cats had the best life. How could you think otherwise.

The giver of brushings walked away and Milo closed his eyes. Later they would do blood magic, ensure that the soft human remained powerless and attached to them. The light magic from the sun kept her healthy and giving. But best of all, after blood magic you had snacks left over.

Princess a flicked a tail in question, and he yawned. Tonight there would be much magic.

Cats will always be my favorites

Mel
