HUGS!

Look, I'm not an extrovert. I like my house, my chair, my books. I like to read and ignore the world, or maybe watch it from the deck. All of which is very good for you as it means I'm usually writing instead of going to bars, concerts, dancing, or even the mall.

That being said - dear gods I miss my peeps. I have a con in two weeks (oops better pre-prep my newsletter) and I can't wait. There are friends I want to see, authors I want to talk to, books I want to sell. And it means I get to be around people who at least probably get my jokes. And I'm getting hugs. Watch out people cause I need some massive hugs.

But it also means a weekend without any writing (4 days actually, eek) so I need to focus and see how much I can get done on Drafted Luck. But I did finish a novella or novelette (I can never remember the length requirements) about Sable and Jo's wedding. So that should be available by early summer. I promise! I'm sending it out to beta readers after I finish getting the news letter ready.

I also will have an anthology or two to start bragging about later this summer, so as you can see I've been busy.

But while you are waiting for my fingers to catch up with your reading, here's something to look at.

I grew up in California, so anything set there, that ISN'T in LA, intrigues me. This story starts in Eureka. So you can bet I'm readying it. Get ready for They Call Me Princess.

Solutions

Sarah Jane hated puzzles. They were stupid and boring and everyone freaked out when you solved them. Why get impressed when she had to count to twenty just to make sure they didn't freak out before she solved it.

She stared at the wall of keys in front of her. This was not easy or quick. Huh. Maybe this would be interesting. Oh. There was the pattern. Sarah Jane sighed, pulled three keys in a pattern, then pulled out the center key. The wall disappeared and she walked through it. For a minute there she had thought it might be challenging.

Trudging along the path, the had told her when she got to the end she'd be able to get chocolate mint ice cream. That was a treat that her mom only got rarely. So she'd play their boring game if she got that. Another wall appeared, but this time the pattern was based off the previous one and she moved the right bricks and a door slid open.

"I'm getting tired." She rubbed her eyes.

"Almost done. Two more doors."

Sigh. Anything for ice cream. She kept going. The third door took her a minute. Then she stopped a the final door.

"Huh." Huge and silver it had no hinges or handles. She studied it. "Ah. I see." She reached inside herself and changed something. Her body shivered to the same silver then she walked through the wall. Some puzzles you had to change yourself to solve them.
