Growing Time!

The trees are full of ....
This is a PG newsletter so I can't say what the trees are doing right now, but I'd like to point out my car is yellow-green instead of white. I am one of the lucky few in Georgia that isn't dying as the pollen doesn't affect me as much as everyone else. I get the occasional sense and that is about it. I would like to point out though that while growing up in California I COULD NOT BREATHE! So I feel like I've already paid my dues.
But while seedlings are growing, trees are being frisky, and weeds are exploding out of the ground, my books are doing pretty well too! I hit a Bestseller sticker with Inherited Luck.
It's kinda a big deal and I'm just trying to focus on writing. I have a novella that I will be sending out to my newsletter readers here in another few weeks then I'll put it up for sale on Amazon. Otherwise, you know me, I'm writing and wrestling with this next book.
While you wait for me to type faster I have a books for you to look at, since you can't read the next one yet.
This is more YA, which honestly I like sometimes, and it is the first six chapters for free. If you want something with fantasy and fun, take a look at Curses of Scale.
For something a bit darker, more gritty, try Aegyir Rises. When people are dying around you, stopping it becomes an imperative. It is a series, so if you like book one, you have more to read.
My narrator is working on book 3, Educated Luck, so stay tuned and this summer that audio book should be live.
Otherwise I'll leave you with a free microstory that I hope you enjoy. And don't forget you can read No Luck if you want to find out what happened to Charles and Daniela.
DRAW
I stood in the empty street, the creaking of the saloon doors the only music. I almost expected the twanging of a guitar as the form walked towards me. The closer it got, the more it resolved into the figure of a man, but it wasn't nothing human, not anymore.
Mom was going to kill me.
I stiffened my back, standing firm in the middle of the street. I'd figure out this mystery no matter what. I might get skinned alive when mom found out but I would resolved this.
Stupid time space reality rips. Magic sucked when you weren't supposed to use it.
"That's far enough," I said throwing my voice to the figure not ten feet away. "We don't take kindly to spirits round these parts." I was pretty sure those were the right words, but then who knew. Stupid book. This was not how my trip to a dude ranch was supposed to go.
"We were here first, now git," the figure whispered the words surrounding me with physical force.
"Fraid I can't do that. It's your time to go, sonny."
Sonny? Bad enough I stepped into the rip, but now I was talking like them. Mom would kill me.
"Ya know there's only one way to settle this. Draw!" The last word fired with the force of a gun.
I fired my spell just as his hit me and threw me back to reality.
"Louisa March! I told you, no spirit hunting until you're eighteen."
I hope you enjoyed that story. I'm going back to writing. Stay well and happy.
