And Exiles' Refrain is here!
I have so much to talk about so first let's talk about the Dragoncon Awards. If you don't know they are fan voted awards and of course we can campaign, but mostly it boils down to how good your books are. And this year I know a bunch of people on the list and ANYONE can vote. Check it out here.
Now if you want a suggestion, well here are the people I voted for.
Now on the super exciting news, I have Exiles' Refrain in my hands. The paperback and the hardback. They are so pretty and the designs inside and outside are gorgeous. If you wanted to get a physical copy, you can find them here. And that also means Exiles' Refrain is up for preorder!!!
Next newsletter I'll share my BUSY Dragoncon Schedule. But until then I am working on a new series and trying to finish the world building there. I hope you love it.

Munchausen by Proxy is one of my favorite insanities and I love seeing it used, so when it is murder, I'm intrigued. Add in Jack the Ripper, programming androids, and a good guy punished, well check out Murder by Munchausen.
Seeking solace in a remote mountain cabin in northern Maine, haunted by the recent loss of a comrade during an operation in Afghanistan, Special Operations Operative, Hal Bennet questions his sanity when awakened in the middle of the night by what appeared to be a medieval knight. A year later he returns to figure out if he is losing his mind. Check out Daemons!
Weekly Micro Story
Fire
"On the count of five you will turn and fire," the official barked out, sounding no more happy about being here than Francois was.
That's the last time I sleep with a married woman, I'm sticking with verifiable widows.
The thought was bitter as he stood back to back with the husband of the woman. She was watching from the sidelines and if he wasn't so worried about killing someone, he might have cared about her smug smile.
Francois knew he wouldn't die. Why he couldn't say, but the idea of killing this man, no matter how obvious his shortcomings were, sat poorly.
"One," came the order and Francois stepped forward. At least they should be far enough that he would be unlikely to get blood on his shirt.
"Two."
He really should be more worried, but the oddest numbness had settled over him, removing anything except linear thoughts.
"Three."
His gun was loaded with two bullets of his own design, though why he had carved all the runes into them, he still didn't know. Waste of time and effort. Not that he ever thought he'd be in a duel.
"Four."
Oh well, maybe later he could get dinner at his club. This incident would be the talk of London.
"Five."
Acting with instincts that Francois had not known he possessed, he spun and shot, the bullet slamming into the husband's chest, right at the heart. The man had not even had time to get his gun up.
I wonder what his name was.
Then all other thoughts vanished as rather than falling down and dying, light spilled out of the man's chest, spreading wider and wider until a glowing portal hung in the air, devouring the body of the former spouse.
A figure dressed all in silver and red clothes stepped out. The face was hidden by a silver bowl.
"Finally a new land and new slaves. Excellent. I told them the dream commands would work," said a voice in perfect English, which made it even more terrifying.
Maybe there had been a reason for those designs on the bullets. And maybe dying would have been preferable as the creature removed the helmet exposing something not of Earth.
