2 Ways to create a more inclusive working environment for Neurodiverse Colleagues
Sep 06, 2022 12:01 pm
Hello Dear Friends,
How are you doing?
I hope you're well.
This week I'm focusing on what does it take to make your workplace and environment more inclusive for Neurodivergent Colleagues.
I'm sure that you're all aware that we all have different learning and working styles. Everyone has their own way that helps them too:
✅ Focus
✅ To be creative
✅ To be in flow
And so it is the same with Neurodivergent people they have ways that help them to do the former that are different to other people but no less valid and definitely NOT an additional BURDEN.
Without further ado here are 2 ways to create a more inclusive working environment for Neurodiverse.
1 Ask all Team Members how do you work Best
One way to do this is to have team biographies, which include information on what they do, how they like to work and also a hobby or social thing.
It's not hard to do, but by asking this question, you can help to create an environment where all can thrive.
2 Adjust to Different Working Styles
Difference is not something that needs to separate us, allowing space for different working styles is something that you'll need to actively practice. In order to build a space where there is time for individual focus and times for collaboration and teamwork.
Join us for the in person event, NeuroDiversity in Focus on 22nd September, 6:30pm-8:30pm. Bring a colleague and take part in this intimate and closed discussion on creating a more inclusive working culture for all. Get your ticket: HERE
Have a wonderful day ahead.
Warm Regards,
Ekua 💛
