How is your Q1 going so far?

Hello Dear Friends,
How are you doing?
At the end of last year I joined the quarter planning club. So rather than plan long-term goals alone for the year, I have also adopted Quater by Quater planning. I am finding that it actually makes things less daunting. So we are down 1 month and half, because February is a short month, and March is fast approaching!
So today, I wanted to check in on how your Q1 is going and to share 3 things that you can do to recalibrate. Here are 3 things that you can do to think differently about your progress and your goals:
1 Have you checked that your goal is still relevant and needed for your current operating environment or does it need to be changed or adjusted?
Goal setting is great! However, I believe there is an insidious mindset, which is that goals should be static. I don't believe that goals should be static, I think that goals should be adaptable, changed, and even binned! Because with the best will in the world, sometimes circumstances and environments change dramatically! So we should not stick rigidly to goals that do not fit the current operating environment. And don't hear what I am not saying, I am not saying you should change your goal because you meet a challenge or obstacle! I am saying if something foundational or fundamental has changed in your company or the way it operates, therefore your goals should be reassessed to see if they are in line with the current way of operating.
2 Does your company have goals or metrics on employee wellbeing?
In your company or organisation, you will have policies, and services or provide access to services and information that enable employee wellbeing. Are you measuring how effective they are? Does the data indicate things are good or you need to make adjustments or different solutions?
3 Have you set yourself up with the best habits and actions to enable goal attainment?
The goals that we have set ourselves or that have been set for us require us to take consistent action to make progress towards them. Do you feel in alignment with your goals? Or do you feel that it's not the right goal you've been saddled with and so you're finding it hard to keep focussed on it and keep pushing it forward! Yes, I hear you sometimes we get given "Sucky goals!". However if you did not renegotiate them and accept it, then you've got to find a way to push forward with them. So you've got to approach them with the mindset of the "Bigger Picture" and your personal "WHY".
