Hello Dear Friends,

How are you doing?

Today in your second newsletter this week, I will be using this newsletter to share insights on HR trends and topics. Bringing you the best of what's out there on the topic of today, which is Upskilling and the need for continuous learning in your workplace. So that your employees can keep pace with the changing landscape, and operating environment's that businesses are facing during this global health pandemic.

So today, I'm going to be sharing with you my insights and a round-up on the best insights on Upskilling and focussing on 3 key areas. See the list noted below:

1 Futureproof your employees for career growth and advancement in your company

Your employees need the skills to keep up with tech changes and different ways of operating your company as you adapt to the market. Environmental factors affecting the economic climate will bring about changes in your workplace. Your employees want the skills to advance in your organisation, and to increase their value in your organisation, and to advance their career with your company.

According to Whatfix,"70% of “high-retention-risk” employees want to leave because they see no future advancement in their current job”.

2 Employees want you to care about their growth and development:

As I have stated previously your employees want options from your organisation for their own personal growth and development. As a coach I encourage employees to be proactive about their career development and growth. If your organisation makes it easy to access development opportunities it will help to plug your talent drain.

According to Peoplegoal, "Soft skills are often forgotten about in an L&D program. This is a major oversight. According to SHRM, 89% of new hires who fail within 18 months did so because of a lack of soft skills."

3 Simple Knowledge can make your teams powerfully productive:

Simply, your employees and people have a lot of knowledge already. However it may not be captured or documented. A very cost effective way to upskill new joiners or returners is to have documentation on key aspects of being an effective member of the team.

According to the AccessGroup, "creating Skills Pioneers" is a cost effective way to disseminate and retain knowledge in your organisation when you send employees on training courses. Empowering them to come back and to teach others what they have learnt.
