Hello Dear Friends,
I hope you're well.
Creating inclusive and diverse working cultures that support, employee well-being is a goal that many organisations have.
I wonder how the mindset of managers can support or detract from building a culture where people from different backgrounds, people who are neurodiverse, women and from minority backgrounds is contributory factor in the successful cultures?
Having a "Growth Mindset" as defined by Carol Dweck is about your ability, to adapt, learn and to be resilient. Could this idea not also be applied to your perception and judgment of those that "are different", or neurodiverse. Could your willingness set things in terms of growth, possibility and learning lead you to behave in ways that serve creating a more open, positive and inclusive culture in your teams and organisation?
This article, "Inclusive Cultures Have Healthier and Happier Workers" makes the case that supporting employees to feel safe about sharing about mental health issues, neurodiversity and other factors that affect an employee's performances helps them to feel "safe" to share or disclose and helps companies to retain talented employees and provide the support they need to thrive and be happy at work. I personal think so, but I'd love to know your thoughts.
Do you think this would be a good LinkedIn poll topic?
Hit reply and let me know do you think that the mindset of managers can make a workplace more or less inclusive?
Have a great evening.
Warm Regards,
