You're thinking is WRONG!

Hello Dear Friends,

I hope you're well.

Today is an incredible day.

I have completed 14 episodes of my Neurodiversity Myth-Busting Series! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸŽ‰

One thing I've found on travels and seeking the views of senior and talented neurodiverse people is the concept of "Wrong Thinking".

So let me explain and help us to see the value of giving "different ideas", or room for alternative ideas to be explored or "wrong thinking" to really be analysed.

It's a story that we hear so often, we don't even think to ask if this is really RIGHT.

I want you to reflect and think about what do you when you're in this situation.

You're working on a project and there is a deadline, your working on how to deliver on time and what methods would be most effective to deliver the desired outcome. You have a tried and tested method that has delivered in the past. You have a meeting to talk about working to this method and invite feedback on what can deliver an even better outcome.

And then someone in the team suggests something that seems, "unusual" or "different".

Is your first reaction A, B or C.

A. Shutdown that idea, you have a tried and tested method

B. Say that let's talk about once we've delivered so we can do it next time

C. Ask how does this new idea could improve the desired result or outcome

And I can tell you it's only human nature to "default to A", because why would you mess with the process when you've got a tried and tested method.

And this notion of being shut of out discussions or for having your ideas "branded as wrong thinking" is a common experience of neurodiverse and minority employees in the workplace.

And so today I invite you to try out option C next time you're in that situation.

To end I also want to link this experience back to employees with ADHD, this is a experience I've heard from many people with ADHD about their workplace experience.

Often workplaces do their best to provide support to employees through things like EAP, which are brilliant. However sometimes this support cannot deal with very specific and niche support needs.

To support senior women who think they may have ADHD or have been recently diagnosed, I'm providing a safe space to ask questions and to find out how to navigate having ADHD and to thrive in all areas of your life. This event is valued at Β£495, we're doing it for Β£65 to make it accessible. Consider sponsoring or enabling an employee to access this event to get access to specialist advice, support and resources from an experienced Consulting Psychologist.

We can support payments by card and BACs payments via invoice to your company.

Book your ticket for our ADHD late Diagnosis in Women online Masterclass on 21st Nov, 7pm - 8:30pm and come away knowing you're now alone, how to access support, actionable steps for well-being and how to get a diagnosis.

For more info on this event, take a look at this post. HERE

Today I ask, what will you do Today, Tomorrow and This Week to listen to new ideas and implement new ways of doing things?

Have a great day ahead.

Warm Regards,
