Podcast Appearances and Back to Writing!
Aug 08, 2024 3:01 pm
Hey there!
It's been just a little over two weeks since our last little bean was born and things are starting to settle in. I said starting, because it's not all settled yet. He gives us a pretty good amount of sleep at night, but not nearly enough. That said, progress has been quite a bit slower than it has in the past, but I'm trying to give myself grace, reminding myself that life has 'times and seasons'. More writing and progress will happen soon after this season passes.
Still, I had the opportunity to join The Greatest Podcast in the Multiverse to talk a little bit about my life and how I do manage to keep progress rolling despite the craziness! It's great episode. You won't want to miss it!

My Progress This Week
Now that Dragon Blooded is officially off to the copy editor (wahoo!) I had the opportunity to step back into working on Dwarf Blooded! The first part of that process is to figure out where I even left off. Given that I 'discovery write' so heavily I honestly don't even remember where I was in the story, so I have to spend some time reading back so that my story isn't wildly disjointed. Fortunately reading isn't difficult, so I made a few thousand word progress into the story again.
And then August hit. That's my 'pre-set' start date (the second month of each quarter) for starting my next short story. This one actually happens to have quite a bit of mental flesh out, moreso than past stories, so we'll have to see how that goes in the writing process. I ended up going with a bit of a 'sci-fi mystery' genre for this story. I'm excited to see how this one ends up.
Just in case you didn't have a chance to pre-order Dragon Blooded, I'll pop the link in here once again. ;)

Many of us have wished we could write the book that we've wanted to for most of our lives, but what does it take to actually get there? Join me and Sebastian as we talk about how he set out to write the books in his heart, how he gets into the flow, and where he gets inspiration for the books he writes.

Scaling a business is a challenge that all companies go through, so authoring is no exception. Whether you are casual or not, at some point, we have more readers to reach and more books to write. How can you go about scaling that? Join me and Jennifer Carr as we discuss technologies and strategies she's used to scale her author business.
