Grazing Cows, Publish Date and Early Reading!
Jul 11, 2024 3:18 pm
Hey there!
Another week has flown by, and to answer the question that all of you most likely have right off the bat, no the baby has not been born yet. While the due date for our son is less than a week away, we are still playing that waiting game and doing our best to be patient.
We're pretty thrilled, on the note of homesteading, to finally have gotten Ginger out grazing in the fields! We moved here over three years ago and saw the potential of our acreage for feeding a cow but haven't been able to make it happen until just this last week. Until now, it's mostly just been left alone to die and grow back each year, getting unhealthier over time. But we're thrilled to say that we are finally getting her out every day to eat the fresh food. Not only is this better quality feed, it helps save cost on hay over time!
Now that this dream is fulfilled to a degree, it's time to move on to the next one. Namely, figuring out how to get the author thing moving forward at a faster pace. When it comes to the writing of the books, I have little issues. Toss me in front of a blank page, says 'write' and you'll get something pretty quick. Drop something written in front of me and say 'edit' and...you'll get some blank stares.
Don't worry, I'm kicking myself into high gear and making things happen.
My Progress This Week
I think the biggest thing of note, other than pushing past the 50% mark on final edits for Dragonblooded, is that I have a publish date on the calendar for the book. (Finally...right?) This YA Portal Fantasy will be ready and available to you on Amazon (or direct from my website) on September 24! As a reminder, here's what you have to look forward to.
Think of this book as a YA portal fantasy combination of the Lorien Legacies and Percy Jackson books. David is just a normal run-of-the-mill high school football player, except for one minor detail. His mother's a dragon. This mostly isn't a problem, save for some few instances of spontaneous combustion of his hands. He's stayed pretty low-key, until the enemies from her world come knocking in the human realm.
About a month before the book is to come out, I'd love to send you advanced copies so that you can get a look early at the book. If you'd like to join my 'street' team of readers who get to read it a few weeks beforehand, just let me know below! Or you can reply to the email. (If you've already done so I have your name down, so no need to reply again)
An Omnibus Version of The Kids of Cybercity?!
Another exciting thing that happened this week! The Kids of Cybercity Omnibus version became available on Amazon! Sometimes, you just need the chunky-fully trilogy version of a book. Now you can!
