Hello, my darlings,
Does anyone know where July went? I feel as if I'm always saying time is flying by, but I truly feel like I blinked and missed July! But, now it's August, which is by birthday month. My best friend will be visiting to help me celebrate, and we haven't seen each other in nearly two years (not since our amazing trip to Italy—I caught covid in Italy but the trip itself was amazing), so we're really looking forward to the visit! Other than that, I've been trying to enjoy the summer days, getting out and taking walks when I can, tending my little patio garden (though I have to admit, fall is my favorite season and I'm looking forward to those crisp fall days and changing colors too).
Also in August is the Queen of Hearts Book Fair in Pennsylvania. It sounds like it's going to be a great event with authors and other vendors, food and drinks, and a book bedazzling station. And the event has an Alice in Wonderland theme, which sounds super fun. I hope to see you there! In other event news, I'm going to be a part of Rainbow Space Magic again this year. Rainbow Space Magic is a free virtual conference held over Zoom. There will be panels about LGBTQ spec fic and author readings. I've participated since the beginning, and it's always been a great time. You can find the link to register below.
I'm continuing to work on To Know a Dragon Spy, the second Dragons of Ivria book. You known by now that I'd hoped to have it in your hands last year and more books besides, but long covid messed up every one of my plans. But the end is in sight with this one, I think, and I hope to have news for you soon. And I really hate that I keep saying that and then don't have news—I feel terrible about the delay, but I promise I'm doing my best. (Seriously, though, avoid covid if you can. Ugh.)
