Hello, my darlings,
It's October, and though I don't exactly know where September went, I'm not mad about it being October. I'm watching the leaves change bit by bit on my morning walks and I've baked my first batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and made pumpkin pancakes. I'm burning fall candles and have the Halloween decorations up and just generally enjoying this season that I love. The world may be *waves hand at all the horrible* but I'm doing my best to care of myself by enjoying these little things.
I had a great time at Rainbow Space Magic last weekend! If you weren't able to attend the virtual convention, you can still watch the panels and readings. If you want to see me, I joined the panel about finding writing communities when you have constraints and also read from To Love the Dragon King during the Sunday readings (about 45 minutes in). Writing continues (unevenly, but continues) on the first book in the cozy, witchy romance series I've started. I've definitely figured out some things I needed as I've worked, and one of those things is the title: The Magic in Falling Leaves. I'm really excited about this series, and though it's a change from my other books, I hope you'll all enjoy it too. And I haven't forgotten about the third book in the Dragons of Ivria series. I'm playing with Thalia and Galina's story as well. I'm still not sure if I'll really write them at the same time or dive seriously into book 3 once I finished the first witch book—I guess I'll see what my brain wants, but I'll do my best not to keep you waiting too long. I know you're looking forward to what happens next in Ivria!
