AlzAuthor Leah Stanley's New Books
When she was 29 years old, Author Leah Stanley’s grandparents went missing. They turned up four days later in a wrecked car on the side of the road. Both were subsequently diagnosed with dementia. Leah became their caregiver, something she shares was “one of the toughest things” she’s ever experienced. Years later, based on that experience, she wrote Goodnight Sweet: A Caregiver’s Long Goodbye, which AlzAuthors profiled in 2019.
Her newest book is entitled Everything I Wish I Had Known: Caring for a Loved One with Alzheimer’s or Other Dementia.
Discussing this new book, Leah shares:
It’s actually available in two formats: one is “The Quick Reference Guide” which is a bullet-point format; it will be very helpful for someone in a situation like mine where they need a lot of info super-quick. The other is “The Unabridged E-book,” a deep dive covering multiple caregiving areas including legal, medical, financial, family relationships, safety and caregiver self-care.

Tips on Managing Family Conflict for the Holidays and Everyday
The holidays can be a stressful time for anyone, but they can be particularly daunting for caregivers. The added obligations and commitments, plus the shopping, wrapping, cooking and baking, can be more than we can handle on top of all of our other duties. And then there are the difficulties caused by family conflict, old resentments, drama, and more. In this video series, Kimberly Best, RN, MA shares her knowledge and expertise in conflict management to help you enjoy the best holiday you can envision. Kimberly is the author of How to Live Forever, A Guide to Writing the Final Chapter of Your Life Story.

Caregiver Writing Workshop for 2023
Here's a writing workshop for caregivers from Annette J. Wick, author of I'll Have Some of Yours and Pauletta Hansel, author of Palindrome, poems about her mother's journey through dementia. Annette and Pauletta lead online creative writing experiences designed to help family caregivers, past or present, explore the gifts and challenges of their lives through poetry, storytelling, and journaling. In this workshop, participants write to reflect on their own journey, and to share as much or as little writing in a supportive and safe circle of other caregivers. No previous writing experience is necessary. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants prior to class date. Four sessions throughout 2023. Free.
