Hello ,
Imagine landing your dream job on a hit TV show (This Is Us, no less!), only to have everything change overnight when you’re called back home to care for a parent with dementia. That was Kitty Norton’s story, but instead of letting grief and frustration have the last word, she turned to creativity. From home videos to family documentaries and immersive blog posts, Kitty realized she was building an archive not only of her mother’s journey, but of a powerful, resilient caregiver community. We’re excited to bring you her story in our latest podcast, “Wine, Women, & Dementia: Building Caregiver Community with a side of Humor with Kitty Norton.” The replay of our recent film discussion in our 2025 FIlm Festival, this episode is packed with heartwarming moments, laughter through tears, and essential insights for everyone touched by dementia.
Why you’ll love this episode:
- Real Stories, Real Community: Discover how Kitty’s family film habit turned into a groundbreaking project that’s validated and uplifted caregivers around the world.
- The Power of Support: Hear how community—online, in-person, or found through unexpected paths—transforms what can be an isolating journey into one of laughter, connection, and hope.
- Humor Heals: Caregiving is challenging, but as Kitty and other guests share, finding the funny is essential for survival—and dignity.
- Takeaways for Your Journey: Whether you’re currently navigating a loved one’s diagnosis or supporting someone who is, the episode offers ideas for building community and celebrating small moments despite hardship.
