Tip of the Week

Hockey's expensive, period. We understand because we were in your shoes not too long ago. With that being said, you can save a lot of money (especially in the long run) if you make the right decisions along the way.

Choosing the right Jr. A league is one of those major decisions. In our most recent YouTube video, we talk about the Jr. A leagues that are Free-to-play (in North America). For those that don't want to watch the entire video, here's a list of the leagues:

• USHL
• NAHL (billet fees of 300-500$ a month)
• NCDC (billet fees of 300-500$ a month)
• Major Junior (CHL) - OHL, QMJHL, & WHL (NCAA Ineligible)
• BCHL
• AJHL
• SJHL
• MJHL

As we said in the video, some teams in the Pay-to-Play leagues will offer partial or even full discounts to the players they really want on their team. Therefore, it's important that you work on becoming the best player you possibly can because it will increase your overall value to teams. As a result, this will increase the odds that multiple Free-to-Play & Pay-to-Play teams show interest in you, which is when you start to see the Pay-to-Play teams offering significant discounts.

Remember this, the more you invest on improving your game and acquiring the knowledge needed to make the right decisions, the more money & time you will likely save in the long run.
