❓ Question of the Week ❓
I did not get drafted to a junior team. What now?
- Stay Positive and Determined: It's essential to maintain a positive mindset and stay determined even if the initial outcome was not what you expected. Remember that not getting drafted does not define your entire hockey journey.
- Maintain a Strong Work Ethic: Displaying a strong work ethic, both on and off the ice, is vital. Coaches and scouts value players who demonstrate dedication, discipline, and a willingness to improve. Be willing to put in the extra effort to stand out.
- Stay Committed to Education: Pursuing education alongside your hockey endeavors is crucial. Focus on your academics and consider joining a college or university hockey program, where you can continue playing while earning a degree.
- Stay Persistent: Understand that the path to success in hockey is rarely linear. Many players face setbacks along the way, but it's important to stay persistent and keep working towards your goals. Learn from every experience and use it as motivation to fuel your passion for the game.
