Tip of the Week

Ever get frustrated in a game or practice and can't seem to get back into the zone afterwards? I know this feeling first hand because it's happened to me many times in the past. Fortunately for me, I came up with a tool during my career that finally put a stop to this nonsense. I call it the Mental Reset Button, and I want to share it with you so you can start incorporating it in your game.

First, let's start with when to use this technique; use it any time you get frustrated, fearful, or anything along those lines in between your shifts, drills, sets, etc.

Next, let's talk about how to actually use the technique. Essentially, the steps are very simple. You take a deep breath in, pause, picture the reset button in your mind, and press it as you exhale; then, repeat until you get back into a good state.

That's it! It's so simple, but so incredibly powerful. I challenge you to use this tool next time you get flustered on the ice!
