Question of the Week
Q: How can I determine if I'm NCAA Eligible with my high school grades?
A: We answered this in the YouTube video posted above, but here's a quick answer for you. First, for NCAA D1, you need a minimum Core Course High School GPA of 2.3. Next, the Sliding Scale comes into play if you meet that minimum standard. Essentially, the higher your core course GPA, the lower you can afford your SAT/ACT score to be; the higher your SAT/ACT score, the lower you can afford your score course GPA to be (as long as its higher than 2.3). You can check out the exact numbers here
Last quick note, although these rules only apply to NCAA D1 athletes, we recommend that all players who want to play NCAA hockey follow these guidelines; the reason being that most NCAA D3 programs follow very similar guidelines, so you might as well do the best you can in high school and on your SAT/ACT.
