Q: What kind of Tier 3 Players Make it to NCAA D3?

A: Talking with D3 coaches, the answer is pretty simple. Somebody that is willing to block a shot, that's willing to go in the corners, penalty kill, who is the hardest working guy on the ice EVERY TIME he's on the ice. This is important because it's those attributes that translate from Tier 3 to NCAA D3 hockey. The stuff that won't translate to D3 is the skill plays, playing in the soft areas and playing on the perimeter because the players in D3 are bigger, stronger and will go to the dirty areas.
