Question of the Week
Q: Should I play Jr. B or Midget AAA?
A: This decision depends on many factors in your specific situation. That being said, we typically recommend that players choose the midget AAA route over the Jr. B route for multiple reasons, most notably for development & exposure. First, chances are that you'll get more practice time at the Midget AAA level, since many Jr. B programs only practice 1-2 times per week, whereas Midget AAA programs typically practice 2-4 times per week. Second, you'll most likely get more ice time at the Midget AAA level since you'll be playing with players around your age, and not competing against older players like at the Jr. B level. Third, good Midget AAA programs typically get more Jr. A & NCAA exposure than Jr. B programs. All that said, Jr. B does make sense for some players, especially if they value playing against older players to help them better prepare for the Jr. A level. But overall, Midget AAA will be the better option of the two for most players.
