Forgiveness Is Freedom

Letting go is not weakness, it’s how healing begins.

Hi ,

Today’s devotional touches a tender place - forgiveness.

Scripture:

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” — Matthew 6:14–15

Forgiveness is often misunderstood. It’s not saying what happened didn’t matter. It’s not excusing harm. And it’s not forcing yourself to feel okay before you are ready.

Forgiveness is release.

When we hold onto bitterness, it quietly binds us to the very pain we want to escape. We replay conversations. We rehearse wounds. We carry the weight forward even when the moment has passed. Forgiveness breaks that cycle, not by denying the hurt, but by refusing to let it control you.

This doesn’t mean the process is instant. Forgiveness can be a decision you return to again and again. A choice to place justice in God’s hands.

A willingness to stop letting the past define your present. You forgive not because they deserve it but because you deserve freedom.

Reflection:

Who or what might God be inviting you to release today?

As you move through today, don’t rush the process. Simply ask God for the grace to take one honest step toward release. Freedom often begins quietly.

Walking with you toward healing,

Agatha
