Hi ,
Today’s devotional invites you to rethink boundaries not as rejection, but as wisdom.
Scripture:
“Let your ‘Yes’ be yes, and your ‘No,’ no.” — Matthew 5:37
Many of us were taught that faithfulness means availability. That being loving means always saying yes. That setting boundaries is selfish or unspiritual.
But Jesus modelled something different.
He withdrew to pray.
He said no to certain crowds.
He honored limits without apology.
Saying no isn’t a lack of compassion; it’s clarity. It protects your peace, your calling, and your capacity to say yes to what God has actually assigned to you. When everything gets your energy, nothing gets your best.
Boundaries are not walls to keep people out.
They are gates that help you steward what matters most.
If you’ve been overextended, resentful, or quietly exhausted, this may be a sign that your yes has been too available and your no underused. God is not offended by your limits. He designed you with them.
Reflection:
Where do you need to say no, not out of fear, but out of faith?
As you move through today, remember:
A clear no can be an act of obedience.
A protected yes can be an act of worship.
Standing with you in wisdom,
Agatha
