Hi ,
Today’s devotional reframes joy not as a feeling, but as a posture.
Scripture:
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” — Nehemiah 8:10
Joy is often misunderstood. We think it requires everything to be going well, or that it means pretending life doesn’t hurt. But biblical joy is deeper than circumstances. It’s a settled confidence that God is still good, still present, and still working even when things feel heavy.
Joy doesn’t ignore pain; it stands in the middle of it and refuses to give despair the final word.
When you choose joy, you are not denying reality—you’re declaring trust. You’re reminding your soul that your strength doesn’t come from perfect conditions, but from a faithful God who meets you in imperfect ones.
This kind of joy becomes a weapon. It guards your heart from bitterness. It protects your mind from hopelessness. It keeps you grounded when emotions fluctuate.
If joy has felt distant lately, don’t pressure yourself to manufacture it. Return to its source. Spend time with God. Let gratitude soften your perspective. Let hope rebuild quietly.
Reflection:
What would it look like to choose joy today, not because everything is easy, but because God is faithful?
As you move through today, remember: joy doesn’t erase struggle. It gives you the strength to walk through it.
Standing strong with you,
Agatha
