A Box Set, A New Story and I'm Writing Again
Sep 07, 2024 5:01 pm
It's September!
That means fall and my favourite time of the year.
What's your favourite season?
First good news on the newsletter front, as I sorted things out with SendFox and got their restrictions lifted. I'm still sticking with one newsletter mailout schedule, though.

Writer Updates
I am currently writing a new short story, an attempted submission piece for a Morgan le Fay themed anthology, and I'm back in my Camelot Immortals world. I don't know if I'll make the submission deadline, but things are going well so far.
It's also rekindled my interest in my Arthurian fantasy series. Those books were something I'd set aside after the disaster of a year that was 2022, but now I'm thinking of revisiting and finishing the series.
More good news!
It's done! Heyward and Andersen #4, Rivalry and Steam Monsters, is finished and back from the editor. Everything's on track for the October publishing date, probably October 10th.
Here's a little cover tease.
(Yes, that is a tentacle in the background)
And since the delivery of the newsletter has been so iffy these last few months, once again here is the blurb and link for The Headless Corpse, Heyward and Andersen #3, for anyone who may have missed the launch.
Headless corpses roam London!
The dead are rising and walking away from mortuaries…before returning without their heads.
Tasked with investigating, dogged detectives Elspeth Heyward and Lars Andersen must uncover the sinister culprit reanimating the newly deceased and locate the still missing bodies.

Saga of the Outer Islands Box Set!
It is uploaded and available in my Lemon Squeezy store and on StoryOrigin!
In the Outer Islands, gods and magic rule the ocean.
Come join Captain Rafe Morrow and his crew as they battle ghosts, gods, and sea monster in this complete trilogy of the high seas fantasy adventure. Included is the bonus prequel short story.

Inside the Book
This month's tidbit is that the story, When Gods Roar (from Visions and Nightmares), was inspired by the noise of an airplane overhead when I was washing dishes. That's the opening scene in the story; a great roaring noise shattering the silence as the main character is washing dishes. Only in her case, it was a monster and not an airplane.
