Hi ,

I'm always thrilled for my clients who experienced long, difficult births with their first babies, but then we are able to turn things around for baby #2.

(And it's so special to support the clients who come back for their 2nd, 3rd and even 4th babies!)

When working with clients who have had a previous challenging birth, we work very proactively during their pregnancy. And when they are in labour, I pay very close attention to their contraction patterns.

For example:

A recent client of mine (whose first baby was in a posterior position - which is not optimal), began feeling back pain during early labour with her second baby.

Her contraction pattern gave me clues that her baby's position was slowing down her labour progress.

I showed my client how to do a standing hip-sway movement, and while she was moving I did some very gentle release work over her sacrum.

My client soon noticed that she was now feeling her contractions in the front of her body. No more back pain - an excellent sign!

Not long after that, she would make some "pushy" breathing sounds that had me running to get the midwife.

My client birthed her baby in 2 pushes.

As a doula, I'm grateful that my experience has given me lots of tools in my "toolkit" to help my clients navigate challenges when they come up!

Know of anyone who could benefit from having a doula?

I am currently taking clients with due dates from May to early July and would love to help.

Feel free to pass along the link to the contact form here and I'll be in touch!

Warmly,
