Hi ,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the fall season.

Cue the crisp walks, hot drinks and cozy blankets!

I'm excited to share something I've been working on...

(in between getting ready to welcome the next wave of babies!)

Over the last few weeks, I've been reaching out to workplace insurance providers to try and get doula services covered.

If you aren't sure whether you have coverage, contact your HR department.

And if you aren't covered, make the request to your insurance company!

The more people who put through requests to have doula services covered,

the better. Competition to provide coverage for services that employees actually want does exist.

As of right now, you may have coverage for doula services if:

You have top tier Sun Life benefits:

I have had clients claim birth doula support, because my certification with DONA International is recognized. And clients with Sun Life have been able to purchase electric breast pumps through their health spending accounts.

You work in tech:

Apparently I am on a spreadsheet as a recognized provider (covered by insurance) for a few tech companies. These workplace benefits offer VERY substantial coverage for extended postpartum support.

Your workplace offers coverage through Carrot Fertility:

This truly ground-breaking company is committed to providing access to fertility and family-building support globally.

They are in 170+ companies, with 17,000 eligible providers.

They cover services from fertility to parenting, and even menopause!

If you have coverage through Carrot, my birth AND postpartum services are recognized. I am thrilled!

Please note that my team is booking into 2026 (mostly from March 2026 due dates onwards)

I recently had a Carrot-related inquiry from a postpartum family for this month and sadly could not help them.

Please make sure to tell anyone who might be interested in doula support to reach out early!

It's my hope that someday doula services can be accessible to everyone.

Starting with workplace insurance coverage, I'm working hard to make an impact where I can.

Doula care is evidence-based support and we know it makes a difference!

Warmly,
