Hello peeps!
Hope this email finds you well. Life has been getting crazier on our end: we’re officially moving states, which means lots of packing, lots of coordination, and very little time. Still, I’m trying to wake up early and squeeze in a few words for Divine King. Writing is all about discipline, but it’s easy to lose that rhythm when you're out of your normal routine. Definitely a challenge, but the good news is the story is coming out really well. I'm so excited to finally share the conclusion to this six-book, five-year journey.
🏃 Marathon
Speaking of discipline... I finished my second half marathon this Sunday! It was a blast, and I honestly enjoyed every minute. With the move and all the chaos, I didn’t have nearly enough time to train or prep, so I’m just glad it went well. It gives me hope that the same thing will happen with this last book I’m working on 😅.
📺 TV Show – We Were Liars
My wife, who has a really good eye for shows, has been pushing this one on me for a while. I resisted because she had already seen it, and she loves rewatching stuff. I never understood that... Until now.
She was completely right. We Were Liars is one of the best shows I’ve seen all year. The characters are layered and engaging, and while the beginning is a little slow, the twists and turns kept me guessing with a shocking end I did not see coming. What really pulled me in, though, was the way it portrayed family dynamics in the wake of a loved one’s death. Especially when a large inheritance is involved. It’s wild (and painfully accurate) how money can bring out the worst in people.
This show has it all: mystery, drama, suspense, tension, romance, and a dose of well-executed young adult themes.
If you’re into family drama with secrets, betrayal, and emotional gut-punches, this one’s for you. Solid 9.5 out of 10.
🎤 Movie – K-Pop Demon Hunters
So... a K-Pop band that hunts demons through their songs was not on my 2024 bingo card. But OMG, it was SO good.
I’d seen clips all over TikTok and even started listening to the soundtrack, which totally slaps. We finally watched it after my marathon, and it did not disappoint. The animation was stunning, the script was hilarious, and the soft magic system built around music was just chef’s kiss. I don’t know how they managed to make something so fun, compelling, and even touching at times.
Movie gets a 9/10. The songs? 11/10. No notes.
🐶 Snoopy’s New Girlfriend?
So this little guy has a girlfriend now. Or maybe it’s more of a fangirl situation?
Either way, it’s hilarious. Her name is Bella, and she keeps jumping all over him trying to get his attention, while Snoopy is 100% focused on chewing sticks. Priorities, right? Still, look how cute they are together.
