Books news + Rose joins us for an interview
Dec 18, 2022 10:56 pm
Popping in with some quick updates and a bit of fun stuff. We have officially crashed past the few cold-but-you’re-fine-if-you-wear-a-warm-coat days into the bone-chilling cold over here, which means my time at my laptop is spent alternating between typing as fast as I can and pausing to sit on my hands and bring them back to room temperature.
It's been an incredible year. I've gotten to share three new books with you guys this year alone, and am looking forward to introducing new stories with the angst and happily ever afters we all love. It would've be possible without you taking the time to get to know and love the characters the same way I do, so sincerely, thank you <3
Speaking of books on the horizon...
Rose’s story is the editor for the second of three rounds of edits, and finalizing the cover (so I’ll get to share that soon!)
While I’ve been editing, Rose Huxley herself agreed to take some time away from her busy day running Ground Up to interview with me.
Can you please introduce yourself?
Rose Huxley, twenty-eight, owner of the best (and only) coffee shop in Juniper Cove. Best friend to Madelyn Bishop (now Madelyn Kent), former employer of Victoria Faulkner, and customer of Layla Darrow.
You’ve sure been in a lot of books now.
What can I say? Readers love me. I’d sure love to be in my own book, though. Hint, hint.
Okay, message received. What’s your favorite part of running Ground Up?
The gossip! There’s not a single thing that happens in this town that I don’t know about.
What’s going on with you and Landon?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Okay, what happened with you and Landon in the past?
Next question.
Really?
Yes, really, if you want the coffee in this pot to stay in this cop and not on your head.
Okay… Anything you can tell your readers about your book?
It comes out in January. A certain someone has slated it for the second half of the month but I’m extremely impatient and might get it out a bit sooner. In it, I’m forced to pretend to date a certain someone, share a bed at a sold out inn, and generally spend too much time with a grumpy jerk.
Can’t wait to meet Rose?
Lots of Love,
Vesper Young
