Peeking out from the writing cave to let you know about a new release. Gwen and Aaron’s story, Accidentally Knocked Up by My Brother’s Best Friend, is out now in paperback, ebook, and Kindle Unlimited. It’s a quick read, matching the length of the companion, Accidentally Married (featuring Daisy and Connor, both of whom have brief cameos).
As with all my books, these can be read in any order. The two span similar, overlapping timelines, and I don’t feel to bad about spoilers because, well, the titles are pretty descriptive.
Like I said, Accidentally Knocked Up is short enough to squeeze in while you wait for your turkey to roast or pie to bake this Thanksgiving. I had a blast writing it as a little break from Rose and Landon’s story.
(As an aside, I am hard at work on Rose and Landon’s story, and I’m hoping to finish this draft in the next couple of days before I have to get my oral surgery, so wish me luck! Their story is shaping out to be an absolute favorite of mine, but it’s intense. You always discover something a little personal while writing a book, and this has been no exception.)
But enough about those two. I’ve included an excerpt below, so read on for a preview of what’s in Accidentally Knocked Up.
And if you’ve already read it, make sure you read their bonus epilogue here: https://vesperyoung.com/free-stuff/
“Gwen, don’t play. You’re Connor’s little sis.”
I was getting really annoyed with him thinking of me like that, dammit. “I’m also an adult, in case you haven’t noticed.”
His gaze dropped for half a second, from my face to my body. “I’ve noticed.” His voice was rough.
My body warmed. Not my cheeks in embarrassment. No, this was a different type of warmth. A heady feeling.
It made me even bolder. “Come on. We both need to let off steam. No one will know. It’ll just be a one-time thing.”
Aaron’s refusal came slower this time, like he was thinking about it. “You’re just saying this stuff to get me worked up.”
The admission I could get Aaron worked up, the figure from my childhood who had always been so unapproachable and just gotten more so as I’d gotten older, was intoxicating. “And if I tell you it’s getting me worked up, too?”
“I don’t believe you.”
“I can prove it.” I got up from the couch and moved over to Aaron’s desk. He pushed away slightly, still sitting in the chair. In theory, I should’ve been looking down at him, but with his massive build, we were almost looking eye-to-eye. I leaned closer, bracing my hands on the arms of his chair. “Try me.”
I expected another refusal.
Instead, Aaron lifted his lips to mine.
Lots of Love,
