One word few of us want to hear

Folks,

And that word is “audit”.

The word “audit” comes from the Latin word “audire,” which means “to hear.” An auditor would “hear” the accounts being read aloud and verify their accuracy. In short, as we get on with making sense of the world, the task in front of or getting through today, the last thing we want is an audit, and yet it could be the one thing we can’t do without.

To have someone in your corner who is there “to hear” what you have to say is powerful. I’ve been lucky enough to conduct an “audit” for two coaches this week. And I don’t think I’d have the time, patience, or presence of mind to do that if I hadn’t first given myself a chance to talk and write about what I’m working on, so thank you for being a part of that journey.

I’m going to leave you with a quote that I love, “play where your feet are.”

Have a great week.

P.S. At the end of August I’m running a 6-week no-cost guided practice workshop for coaches who want to write a Coaching Manifesto. You can find all the details here
