What do you see?

Folks,
“Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself the truth.”
That’s not advice for the faint-hearted, is it?
It is, though, a great place to write from. If you can. Because the truth is always more interesting than you might think.
There is, however, another way, and that’s to see yourself in someone else’s story. What did you notice? What behaviours do you want to encourage and discourage?
If you had courage, curiosity and collaboration at the centre of your coaching, teaching or parenting practice, what would your students see more or less of? And what would they reflect to you?
Few of us want to stand in front of a mirror and tell ourselves the truth, but during a conversation about someone else's practice, we might just reveal ourselves enough to see what we want to become.
I'd like to thank those who attended last week's event. It takes a little courage to run an hour workshop based on a 4-minute "kid's" video, but what I got back was curiosity and collaboration — and for that I'm grateful.
I'm going to leave you with a clip from a video call I had recently with Kelvin Giles, which looks at a PE lesson from 1971. I feel energised and motivated when I see this clip, together with a sense of frustration.
I'd love to know what you notice? What behaviours would you want to encourage, or discourage?
Play nicely,
Simon
