Living my best TK Maxx life

Folks,

Last week, I attended two events with grand titles:

  • A digital campfire on possibility

  • Project Accelerator

Full confession: I wasn’t there to clarify my next step or learn to live a more creative life, but I was there to watch how others facilitate and structure events. I’m keen to get Coach Camp off the shelf next year as I think it can be incredibly useful for coaches.

Here’s what I learnt:

Those who attended value the opportunity to talk about what they’re working on.

Most are A to B people - that is, they know where they are now (A) but only have a rough idea where they want to go (B).

Elite athletes, on the other hand, are B to A people. They know exactly where they want to go (B); they only need a clear assessment of where they are now (A).

Right now, I’m living my best Walmart and TK Maxx life. I know exactly what I need to do, day to day - get my bloody book out the door, with the chance to buy it just around the corner. Any time I have left is spent noodling on ideas and new projects.

I so nearly cancelled both events last week. But I’m glad I didn’t.

Here’s to not always knowing where you want to go,

Simon
